Sounds like Joshua is experiencing exactly the same kind of feeling that I've been feeling. The desire to go out and exercise. Exercise itself becomes a form of entertainment.
It's like my body gets electrically stimulated, it becomes crazed with the idea of exercise. At the same time a feeling of incredible pleasure courses through every cell in my body. I feel this right now as I'm writing to you.

I'm just flying all over the place. After combining the Instant Energy Exercises with the Lightning Speed Fitness Program, I'm just cranking. I have so much energy and desire to get things done, it's not even funny.
When I went to my mailbox which is about 75 yards away, I decided to sprint there.
Not because I felt I needed the exercise. It had nothing to do with that at all. I just had a burning desire to run as fast as I could.

Yes, I really did just go out and do two more sprints. I'm huffing and puffing now. This time the first one was closer to 100 yards, since I didn't need to only go to my mailbox.
The funny thing was that as I stepped outside, there was a white minivan driving further ahead of me by about 25 yards in the parking lot. As I sprinted I started getting close to it, eventually I caught up to the minivan and passed it. It's fun beating a car.
My energy level is so superior these days, I'm getting lots of work done and I have this incredible natural high all the time.

Yesterday I went outside in the sunlight and the crisp spring air and did my new Instant Energy Exercise Routine. These are a powerful group of energy enhancing exercises I recently stumbled upon.
When I came back home from doing the exercises I got a call from a friend. While talking to her, I realized that I felt so good, right there and then... that I almost couldn't stand it.

Wouldn't you like to enjoy exercising for a change?
Today I'm going to show you a really simple idea my father used to improve his health and to lose weight. The interesting thing about this idea was that it had the hidden side benefit making exercise enjoyable instead of hard work.
For some mysterious reason my father no longer had to force himself to exercise, he was really enjoying it now.
My Father's Story:
The other day I was speaking with my father over the telephone. We were discussing the health problem of another family member I'll call Joe.
By the way, my father is almost 67 years old, this should give you courage to try this out even if you're well past middle age. It's never to late to improve your life.
Now back to the discussion with my father. My father was quite sure that if Joe would switch to a 100% raw food diet, he would quickly heal his enlarged prostrate and avoid surgery and the negative side effects of drugs.
As for side effects. Within a week of taking this drug for his enlarged prostate, Joe had very little appetite, has slept much less than normal and has been depressed. I wouldn't call these symptoms side effects, I prefer to call them a "full frontal assault" as my friend, author of A Way Out, Matthew Grace calls them.
A Way Out is a fantastic book by the way. Read it if you want to motivate yourself to become a vegan, raw foodist and someone who doesn't get fooled into taking perscription drugs.
Unleash the Power of Raw Food
My father now knows the power of eating raw. A little while back he did a dietary experiment. For a solid week he replaced his normal dinner meal (which most people would consider super-health-food) with a large and totally raw, blended salad.
He filled up a large Vitamix container full of tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, lettuce and spices and then liquefied it into a soup. That's a blended salad or you can call it a vegetable soup. Or you can make it really thick into a pâté consistency.
You can find loads of quick, delicious and hearty raw food recipes and much more at my Raw Food Coaching and Training website http://howtogoraw.com/. Many of these recipes can be made in under ten minutes and all you need is a knife, cutting board and a blender.
He told me he noticed something unusual happened to him after eating in this way. When he did his daily exercise routine, for some reason he actually started enjoying it. It was like his body now wanted him to exercise it, to push him to his limits. His body was coming to life again.
Exercise Used To Be Excruciating
In the past, he did his daily exercise program because he knew it was important for his health. But he always had to force himself through it. He didn't like doing it, but he did it anyway.
But by simply replacing his dinner meal with a raw meal he started feeling energetic and he naturally wanted to exercise. Another benefit is that he was losing belly fat at a steady pace while eating this way.
My father is not the only one who's experienced this sudden urge to exercise. I often get the incredible desire to exercise, my body begs me to move it and to keep it active. It's this incredible urge and all I can think about is moving my body and just loving life.
The same thing happened to me today, even though I was up really late last night and didn't get nearly enough sleep. But my body still wanted to exercise. It wanted that super flow of oxygen created by the deep breathing and movement of exercise. The desire for movement and life is natural when you eat foods in their radiant natural state.
Raw foods transmit pure happiness and energy to you. We weren't designed to be sitting around all day and be vegetables. But we were designed to eat vegetables.
We Were Designed to do Daily and Vigorous Exercise
All humans before the advent of agriculture exercised considerably. They'd walk or run about 3 to 8 miles a day.
If they wanted to eat and survive, they had to move. If you've been living like a vegetable then I suggest you eat some vegetables and fruit and you'll start to feel an electric energy flowing through you.
With all the people I coach and have worked with, many of them have revealed the same phenomena. They'd often, out of nowhere, have a burning desire to exercise when they were eating a raw food diet.
Aren't You Curious What My Father's Normal Meal Was?
His normal dinner meal consisted of a package of frozen vegetables that he lets thaw out. Then he puts on those vegetables a liberal quantity of flax seed oil and he all add quite a bit of cayenne pepper and I believe some other spices.
So he didn't even cook his vegetables, but what most people don't know is that virtually all frozen vegetables have to be cooked or pasteurized before they are frozen. Certainly, there is some damage in the freezing process but much worse is what happens to a food after it has been cooked.
At least he didn't cook them twice.
And of course, everyone knows how supposedly healthy it is to drink or consume flaxseed oil. I'd bet his dinner meal is better than what 98% of Americans eat and yet it was lacking compared to eating a large raw salad.
So if you want your body to ask you to move it, then why don't you try by replacing one of your cooked food meals with a raw meal of either fruits, vegetables or both.
Remember, there is no other diet on the planet that can even compare to the life changing effectiveness of a raw food diet. Don't kid yourself; if it isn't raw, it doesn't work.

Back when I was about 5 or 6 years old I was visiting my grandparents in Toronto and a startling thing happened to me. For the first time I noticed I had a hard time breathing.
Something was blocking the flow of my breathing. This bothered me so much that I was looking in the mirror, up at my nose to see what was blocking the passage way. What I saw was actually skin that was protruding out in the upper part of my nose. I was worried about this and told my mother. She basically said not to worry about it.
I didn’t like it, but I soon forgot all about it. Fast forward to when I switched to a diet of 100% uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Er, I mean a Raw Food Diet.
After less than a month of eating like this I was able to breathe deeply and effortlessly again. For most of my life I had forgotten what deep breathing was like.
Now I know that for me and many others eating cooked food not only poisons your body, but it also lowers your ability to intake a stream of mountain fresh oxygen.
At first I couldn’t believe the deepness of my breathing. Even when I was breathing indoor air, it felt like I was breathing air in a pristine pine forest up in the mountains. I also noticed that all the flem I had in my lungs completely cleared out.
Looking back, I think maybe I had a minor form of asthma. At least I certainly had an impaired ability to breathe. But going raw quickly cured that.
This kind of ease of breathing is great for any athletic endeavors. But it also does something else amazing, when you can breathe deeply you feel happier. Deep and natural belly breaths actually give you a natural high. I’d be willing to bet that you can’t breathe as deeply as you could unless you’re already eating a 100% raw food diet.
Your body recognizes cooked food as poison. This is has been scientifically proven many times and with many cooked foods. After you eat a piece of "good for you" whole grain bread, your white blood cell count will skyrocket.
Your body will also create mucus to help transport the poison out of your body. Thus the whole theory behind the classic book, “The Mucusless Diet Healing System.” Eat foods that don’t cause your body to produce mucus and you can live in paradise health. Some of the worst offending cooked foods are dairy products and grains. If you eat these foods, you'll never know what it's like to breathe properly.

Why do a boring jog or aerobics an hour or more per day when you can get twice as fit in just 15 minutes by doing Lightning Aerobics?
If it were the choice between running and doing no exercise at all, I'd certainly go running. But why limit yourself to jogging when you could be getting a powerful natural high in 15 minutes or less of doing Lightning Aerobics. You can still jog if you want, but my first priority would be doing Lightning Aerobics.
I'm totally pumped right now and feel awesome. I just finished a mini-lightning aerobics workout. It was only about 7 minutes long, but I was breathing heavy and pumped up and built up my muscles at the same time. I did a 15 minute session in the morning as well.
This high is such an amazing feeling. You can't get this type of high from jogging. It's just not possible.
Why? Because with Lightning Aerobics you are actually strengthening the muscles in your legs, upper body, abdominals and back while at the same time creating a superior aerobic workout.
Trust me, you'll be huffing and puffing but it feels oh-so-good. You'll feel on top of the world and once you get in the habit of doing my program, you'll never want to stop. Nothing and no one will be able to pull you away, once you feel what this high is like.
This is true motivation to exercise.
Many runners jog for an hour or more per day. In fact, I was at our local Raw Health and Happiness Society Raw Food potluck last night and my previous forum post came up for discussion.
This woman who is a jogger was shocked that I would only run for 15 to 20 minutes. In fact, many times in my life, I'd tell people I hardly ever workout for more than a half hour at a time and they were amazed.
How did I get in such good shape with such a short workout, while everyone else is slaving away for hours at the gym? The reason is because the Lightning Speed Fitness Program saves time compared to most other fitness programs. The simple bodyweight exercises in my program work multiple muscles at the same time.
No dangerous muscle isolation exercises. Those kinds of exercises lead to injuries because they create muscular imbalances. This leads to muscle tears and rips. Hard to get fit when you're constantly recovering from injuries. Tis a common problem with weight lifters and people who use machines at the gym.
Imagine doing only a few exercises and pumping up all the major muscle groups and at the same time getting the best aerobic workout in your life. This is the ultimate in fitness time management. You get a powerful combination of results.
Some of the exercises even give you a good stretch. You get aerobic fitness, muscular development and stretching all in one.
This is not to say that you can't or shouldn't exercise for more than 15 minutes. I love doing these exercises so much that I take little exercise breaks throughout the day. Just like my mini-Lightning Aerobic workout I mentioned above.
About Burning Fat:
What will burn more fat, doing an hour of jogging or 30 minutes of Lightning Aerobics?
Why Lightning Aerobics of course. Now I don't have any direct scientific studies to back me up on this. But I do know that the more muscle you put on, the more fat you burn and the faster your basal metabolism will be.
In fact, a pound of fat burns only 2 calories per day and yet a pound of muscle burns 75 calories a day.
I do know that studies comparing jogging or moderate intensity aerobics to a much shorter but more strenuous form of exercise, came up with fascinating results. Although jogging for long periods of time does burn fat, it doesn’t end up helping you much in terms of weight loss.
Why? Because although the joggers burn a lot of fat, their body's put the fat right back on their hips and butts. The assumption is that if the body needs all that fat to fuel your exercise routine, it will then store any excess fuel as fat.
It's like the fat wants to stick to you when you're just a jogger. You're actually training your body to put on fat.
Train it instead to put on muscle. This is the only way to get the muscle high.
So come on over to the force of Lightning and train your body to burn fat and not store it. You'll not only get a super natural high, but you'll take the pounds of blubber off and have a new level of self-confidence that running for an hour can never give you.

The other week when the weather was getting warmer and the sun was really bright, I started jogging again. I loved getting all that fresh air and sunshine and felt like I got a moderate workout from running.
My main reason for running was just an excuse to get outside for the fresh air and the much needed vitamin D from the sunshine.
We had a crazy thing happen here in New Jersey. On Thursday we reached a high of 79° and two days later we had a nor'easter with a high of only 34°. We went from summer to winter in only 2 days and had a bunch of snow and ice to boot.
So needless to say I wasn't going to run in this weather. I've run in the past in the snow and ice, but there was no sunshine to give me extra motivation to get out there.
Instead, I did my Lightning Aerobics which is part of the Lightning Speed Fitness Program. Wow what a difference in results. The first thing I notice is the great high I feel after doing them. I rarely if ever get this high from running. Maybe because I'll only run for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. But that's beside the point.
I get an awesome natural high, each and every time I do Lightning Aerobics. This is the most amazing way to start and energize your day. Did you know that people who do vigorous exercise daily are also 30% more productive at work?
If you've been using the no-time to exercise excuse, you're deluding yourself. If you exercise, you'll have more time and a better quality of life by far.
No here's the problem with jogging. It's not working enough muscles. You're certainly not building big or strong muscles. Yeah it works your heart a little bit, but nothing compared to how much oxygen you take in when doing Lightning Aerobics or the Lightning Speed Exercise.
In fact, you're very likely to get an injury from the constant stress of pounding-the-pavement. Here's another sad fact, many long distance runners look prematurely old for their age. I've even seen this with runners eating a fantastic diet.
All those hours of running increase the free radical levels in your body and it makes many runners look prematurely old. Hey if you like running, then go for it, but in terms of getting fit I believe it's a massive time waster.
By the way, sprinting is another story altogther. Sprinting and other similar anaerobic exercises can actually improve your aerobic capacity better and faster than jogging.
Jogging only works your lower limbs (and not all that well I might add) why not use all four limbs, your whole body in fact and actually strengthen your abs while you're at it. Hands down, jogging doesn’t even come close to Lightning Aerobics in terms of beneficial results to you.
If jogging is the only exercise you'll do, then go for it. But if you want to put on muscles, get fast, get high, double your energy levels and burn fat in 15 minutes or less, then you must get yourself on over to http://lightningspeedfitness.com/.

Anyway, as we were talking about the product we're creating, he made this statement, "Can you imagine Bruce Lee not having this?" Immediately I said no way.
What is this magical quality that Bruce Lee had and that all truly successful people have? It's super-self-confidence.
What Sgt. O realized during his experiences in the Marines and the U.S. Airborne is that he's never met a person who had this certain quality and wasn't also super-confident.
This quality is super-fitness. When you are physically strong, fit and energetic, it changes you. It gives you a confidence that you can achieve just about anything in life.
Athletes tend to be more successful in life than the average person, because they needed to develop self-discipline to take them in life to reach their athletic goals.
A strong physical challenge can do at least three things for you. One is that it can give you self-confidence, two is that while you are striving to become superfit you're also becoming healthier and three while your reaching those goals you're also becoming happier and more energetic.
You can as the old saying goes, "kill two birds with one stone." But you really get so much more when you are physically fit.
It doesn't matter where you are starting from, all that matters is where you want to go. Even if you've never exercised a day in your life, you can begin and step-by-step, reach fitness goals that at one time seemed impossible for you to achieve.
What if you can't even do one pushup right now? It doesn't matter. I've been working with a woman who couldn't even do one full pushup before she started my program, she's gotten as high as doing 14 in a row. That's a 1,400% increase.
Do you personally know anyone who can do 100 pushups in a row? That could be one of your goals. You may only be doing 10 in a row right now, but the striving and reaching for the goal will build your self-confidence.

This is truly fascinating. This story was related by Lynne McTaggart the author of "The Intention Experiment."
A study was done with two groups of people.
Group 1: Worked out in a gym.
Group 2: Just thought about their biceps getting bigger.
Group 1 people that worked out in a gym had a 30% increase in the size of their biceps. The astonishing thing is that the Group 2 people had a 15% increase in the size of their biceps.
I don't have any of the details of this study. But I'd love to see how it was designed.
This Is Even More Amazing: Past Changed Through Visualization
Here's another fascinating thing Lynne spoke about on her Coast To Coast interview with Art Bell. She mentioned two studies on this topic.
In one study, two groups of people with some kind of blood disorder disease (I believe it was Sepsis) in Israel were used.
One group was treated with visualization and the other group was not. I don't remember the exact statistics but the group that had people visualizing their healing had much better health results than the group that received no group visualization.
The interesting thing is that these patients were sick and I believe out of the hospital in the early 1990's but the visualization treatment didn't happen until the somewhere in the 2000's.
There was another study she mentioned that was actually published in Lancet. I don't remember all the details but basically some kind of computer program was created. After it was created it's construction was somehow altered from the original via the power of group visualization.
This is fascinating stuff and has great potential for altering your reality for the better. (And for the worse if not used carefully.)

What you "MUST" do to lose weight and achieve your fitness goals.

I received this important and powerful article via email a while back. So many people fail on a weight loss or diet program because they don't understand this principle. You don't want to leave your success to guesswork.

First, include a health professional in your social support group. This could be your doctor, a nutritionist, or a trainer that you see on a regular basis. But you need to be accountable to someone. This will work best for those of you that can't find support among your family, friends, or co-workers.
Second, if a member of your social support group also loses weight, you'll have a greater chance of succeeding. So try and get family members, friends, and co-workers directly involved. Get them from cheerleaders to active participants in the fight against fat.

I've been waiting for a book like this to be written for the last 7 years. Dr. Douglas N. Graham's "The 80/10/10 Diet," is truly a masterpiece on not only the raw food diet, but on a low fat diet in general, even if it isn't raw or vegan.
People from all dietary backgrounds can benefit tremendously from reading this book and gradually getting their caloronutrient (means nutrients that contain calories) levels in to the 80/10/10 range.
For people following the raw food diet in its many forms, this book will clear up hundreds of little and big issues you may have been having. Also everything is so cleverly stated that it will make better sense to you. Reading and fully understanding this book will make you somewhat of an expert on raw food nutrition.
Virtually everything you need to succeed (minus coaching and support like what I offer at www.HowToGoRaw.com) with the raw food diet is provided in this thoroughly researched and comprehensive raw food book. I absolutely love it and give it my absolute highest recommendations.
This is a must read, if you want to be exceptionally knowledgeable in raw food nutrition. I already know that many so-called raw food experts and gurus have no understanding of much of the information in this book. If they did, they wouldn't be making such dangerous nutritional recommendations to their clients and patients.
In my opinion the raw food diet is being destroyed by people making absolute nonsense dietary recommendations. When new raw foodists follow these popular diet gurus and have worse health than when they started, then that's not a good thing for the raw food movement in general.
But this is precisely what happens. I know because it happened to me and many other people I've come to know and coach.
Luckily, I persisted until I found the right way to eat raw. And trust me, there is a right way and a wrong way. It doesn’t depend on your body type, blood type, where you were born, racial heritage, metabolism or dosha. Again, this is all thoroughly, logically and scientifically explained in this fabulous book.

This is the way the first humans all survived. We weren't born with clothing, ovens and spears.
Virtually every last detail is explained. If you've been irrationally scared of eating fruits, you'll understand why you shouldn't be. There's a whole chapter called, "Meeting Fruit Concerns Head On."
Do you wonder where you'll get your essential fatty acids on this diet? The book explains this in detail. What we people don’t realize is that just by eating a calorically sufficient diet of fruits and vegetables we'll be meeting all of our needs for essential fatty acids in the best possible way, a 1 to 1 ratio.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the book is when he talks about "Fragmented Thinking or Logic." Dr. Graham equates that with the story of the 6 blind men trying to determine what an elephant really is like by touching it in one spot.
This is the problem with every single nutritional theory out there that doesn't come close to agreeing with the 80/10/10 principles. They look at the part and base their rational on false premises.
If the foundation of your argument is a false premise then your whole argument is false. And this is the case in every single diet in the world except the low fat raw food diet.
This is a great book to have if you want to prove a point. All you have to do is ask the skeptic to read a certain section and they'll likely realize the folly of their argument. At least if they are open minded.
It's comprehensive at 348 pages and the print is actually on the small side. So there is quite a bit of information in this book. This took Doug 5 years to write and get edited and ready for the world to read.
There are also about 20 great testimonials of people following this diet in the back of the book, plus a fantastic Frequently Asked Questions section.
Reading this book will clear up so many issues and false beliefs about health and nutrition. You'll finally have supreme confidence in what you're eating. Virtually all of your doubts will be removed.

The other day I went on the most exciting and dangerous adventure of my life. I did it with my youthful 66-year-old father, who is actually a granddad these days.
I'm on vacation now, visiting my dad in Oregon. On my second day with him we went to the northernmost redwood forest in California. That was simply breathtaking. Later that day we went to this beach and hiked 3 miles in a constant 40 to 50 mile per hour wind. I was so cold. Thankfully, the cold wind relented and warmed on the way back.
This was not an easy hike. We climbed some cliffs and had to walk over very unsteady ground including rocks and huge forests of driftwood. I know many adults who would never have even ventured the idea of doing the hike we did because there was risk of injury.
They would have thought it too difficult and dangerous. Many older adults simply wouldn't be physically capable of going on this adventure.

But what we did the next day was ten times harder. I must say that I'm truly amazed at my father's physical and mental capabilities.
Physically it seems he's capable of doing anything he could do when he was 30 years old. Mentally he's just as sharp as ever and still working as a consulting engineer.
His body looks the same as when he was 30, except he has a few more wrinkles and grey hairs. My father is an example of how people should be. He takes care of his health and therefore, he's not plagued by all the old age diseases that other people experience.
** Physically he acts more like a 30 year old than a typical 66 year old.
All his life he's eaten a lot of fruits and vegetables. I remember his everyday lunch at work would consist of bananas and green delicious apples. I never saw him pack anything else.
These days he eats very simply and exercises every day. He's not a 100% raw foodist. However, that might soon change. Since I am visiting he decided to try eating mostly raw. So far he's been eating about 95% raw with me and not having much of a problem or transition at all.
Later on I'll discuss one problem he had and that is typical of new raw foodists. It made his mountain climbing adventure much more difficult.
Below is a letter I sent to some friends describing our exciting and yet dangerous climbing experience.
I think you'll find it interesting and I only hope that you can do the same or better when you are 66 years of age. If you take care of yourself, there's no reason, besides fear, that you couldn't do this as well. You need strength, flexibility, great balance and courage to attempt something like this.
What I haven't told you is that he's done this climb by himself and climbed several other mountains in the area by himself. Personally, I think that's too risky, but it doesn't bother him at all. I'll include links to pictures of the area we climbed below.
** Our Mountain Climbing Story **
What an adventure I had today in Oregon with my father. I wasn't nearly as tired today. Got up to 85% of my strength back. (Hadn't slept enough, jet lag, higher altitude and I wasn't eating enough calories.) I'm catching up slowly.
We went mountain climbing. It was an incredible ordeal. I was thirsty as soon as we started climbing. I ate some dulse(which is a quite salty seaweed) before we started and we didn't bring enough water. So I was very thirsty right from the beginning.
I don't think my father understood how thirsty I was. I thought we would be down within a couple of hours and even then I didn't want to go because I knew I'd only get even more thirsty as we climbed in this 95 degree day. I had no idea of what was in store for me.
Later on my father got really thirsty as well. We started trying to chew on leaves to extract water from them, but they just made us more thirsty because of their bitter taste. There was no water anywhere on our path.
We went through every kind of terrain. We even carried bear repellant. We actually climbed two peaks. The first adventure took about an hour and the second one took a few minutes under four hours.
The climbing was physically and mentally challenging. I'd estimate only 1% of 66 year old Americans would be capable of this climb. It was a tremendous leg and calf workout. Our knees were quite sore the next day and I had blisters on both of my big toes. We were often on unstable ground, hanging on to tree branches while climbing some areas up to a 90-degree grade, like a sheer cliff.
We had to go through dense brush, duck down and all the while constantly going up very steep areas with unstable ground. My father says that this instability is great for keeping your legs strong and firm.
You never know which way your ankle will turn and you have to have good reflexes so you don't fall the wrong way and hurt yourself. This is similar to stability ball training. This kind of climbing is one of the secrets to his youthfulness.
He also feels young just because he's doing stuff most people would only attempt at a young age. The emotional challenge and the physical exertion keep him young.
In the end, the scenic views and sense of adventure and accomplishment were worth it. Especially at the end when we were saved from possibly deadly results.
For a while, I was getting a bit worried. We had no trail to follow and we were completely alone and lost, trying to go back down the steep grades of this mountain. I was constantly vigilant of losing my balance and tumbling down the mountain. I was often sliding and did fall a couple of times, but recovered quickly. My father fell at least once as well.
No one else was climbing the mountain. And we were both exhausted and thirsty and it was getting near sunset. We were also exhausted, on top of the fact that we had to get down and it was quite steep and difficult in many areas.
We often had to hang on to branches and jump to rocks. We frequently fell and slid on loose rocks. We also had to go across instead of down so we could find more passable terrain. We saw two large animal poops, maybe bear or elk. We also saw hoof prints later on and that was very high up.
I couldn't imagine how fit four legged animals that live on this mountain must be.
Near the end of coming down (I had no idea how much longer it would last. We went up for over two hour's total time.) We went up to 6,000 feet or so. We found a cool pond which turned into a stream.
That water was so cold and to us it was like "The Fountain Of Youth". It was probably melted snow. We even saw a snowy patch on another nearby mountain in an area that was protected from direct sunlight. (People ski at Mt. Hood, Oregon, all year round. And I saw the snow covered mountain from the plane. Snow was not at the lower part of Mt. Hood.)
Anyway that water was a gift from God. Just previous to that I was asking for divine intervention and it came within five minutes. I didn't expect water, but a way to get back to our truck.
I drank up the cool and I think clean water and so did my father. I still feel fine. We didn't see any pollution in this area at all.
After finding the ice-cold stream, I was totally relieved and refreshed. I felt better than when I first started the climb because finally I wasn't thirsty anymore. My legs and body were worn out but after drinking the water I had renewed energy levels.
Later on we came to the point where there was a mini waterfall. It sounded so peaceful and pristine; we both felt we were in heaven, even though we still hadn't found the road to get us back to the truck. At that point we were just enjoying our experience.
Here's a 30 second video clip I took with my cellphone camera of this little stream that saved us. Now that we took care of our extreme thirst we only had to make sure to get out of the forest before nightfall. It was very close to sunset and so we could have been stuck for a night in the woods.
That was what we were really afraid of because prior to the water, we would have had to spend the night in the woods without any source of water. So half our problems were solved by finding our little fountain of youth. I was never so happy to drink water.

** My father makes a typical raw food newbie mistake
My father was exhausted also because he only had four bananas and maybe 20 cherries for his breakfast over 7 hours previous. Whereas I had about 7 bananas, plus wild blackberries in a couple of green smoothies. I was really full at the time. I also had three more bananas to try and quench my thirst before we climbed again. They only helped a little bit in relieving my thirst. However, I consumed 2.5 times the calories that my father did and we are about the same height and weight.
Later he complained that four bananas were not enough and he remembered the last time he climbed this mountain he ate a bowl of cereal just before he climbed and that his energy levels were fine then.
I explained to him that he just didn't eat enough calories. It has nothing to do with needing complex carbohydrates. Fruits fill you up on much fewer calories because they are filled with water and fiber that is missing in cooked food.
I had loads of energy. On our first climb (before I was thirsty, I was running up the mountain in the easier areas to climb. I wanted to make sure I got a good workout. (Turns out that wasn't necessary.) So I had enough energy, he just didn't eat enough calories to sustain him for such a long and taxing climb.
This is a typical problem with people first eating a raw food diet. They almost always feel full on about half to 2/3rd of the calories they are used to eating. But they complain they are always hungry or don't have enough energy.
** Old Age Is Not A Disease **
My father's physical abilities at 66 years of age are awesome. I bet you only 1% of 66 year olds in the US can do what he did with me today.
I'm sick of hearing people complain they can't do things because of their age. They believe age somehow gives them all these diseases. It's not age but years and years of poor eating, health and fitness habits that cause their so-called, old age diseases.
Heck I had arthritis in my late twenties but now at 39 and on a raw food diet, I don't have arthritis anymore. Just another example that it has nothing to do with age.
** Are they from Mars?
About ten minutes after finding the stream and drinking from several places in the stream, we actually saw two people with two dogs and a camper. I think they thought we were from Mars.
They were camping there and probably thought they were the only ones around. They were very nice and told us where the road was and would have driven us back I believe if we asked.
But we stubbornly marched on. It turns out we overshot the truck by at least a mile. We went further down the mountain than where we had started.
We had to walk uphill on the rocky road for over a mile and by that point my father was like a zombie. He was so tired that he didn't have the energy to talk.
Lack of calories was the main reason why. He hit the wall and was conserving all of his strength to make it back to the truck. I was fairly energetic and talkative at this point considering our previous energy expenditures.
We eventually made it to the truck. Just before we got to the truck we ran into a couple sitting in a car and camping there. They also seemed shocked to see us walking there.
They asked where we were going and I said to our car. They said that only goes to the river, but my father turned right and went up this hill that only a 4-wheel drive can go up. That is when I finally remembered we had driven here to park before.
Then I said to them we actually have a truck. We finally made it.
I think they were concerned for our safety and wanted to make sure we would be ok and couldn't imagine we had driven up that steep and bumpy hill.
I must say, I saw so much beauty in our quest. It was just gorgeous and the pictures won't do it justice. When we were walking back, I saw a lake we had seen from way above while we were climbing. I took a picture of it from up there. I also took several pictures of it when I saw it up close. It was really beautiful to see.
Hopefully the rest of my vacation won't be as challenging as the last two days.
